Amsterdam Student Tour

Our school class tours offer students an extensive introduction to Amsterdam! The walking tour takes about 1,5 hours. Included will be parts of the 17th-century and the old medieval heart of the city.

Of course you will hear everything about typical Amsterdam phenomena such as house boats and the small boats in the canals, hundreds of thousands of bikes ;-), historic houses, sinking houses, water management, drugs policy, Amsterdam’s founding history etc. Including a free colorful citymap for each participant!

For example did you know that:

  • - Amsterdam is built on swampy soil
  • - New York originally was called New Amsterdam
  • - the first stock market of the world was founded in Amsterdam
  • - Amsterdam a melting pot is with almost 180 different nationalities living together

At the end of the excursion we gladly give you tips about where to eat for fair prices, good shopping and entertainment areas.

We had a really good time! You made it a great day. Roel knew how to strike the exact right note and his distinct interest in and knowledge of (the history of) Amsterdam are a relief compared with the average city guide. T. van Zwet
