Jordaan quarter
The Jordaan quarter is definitely known as the most romanticized and charming quarter of Amsterdam. Famous for the typical Jordanese sentimental songs, lace curtains, flowers in window boxes, the pink and golden interiors with reproductions of crying gipsy orphans on the wall.
Not even a century ago the Jordaan was one of the poorest parts of Amsterdam. Nowadays this 17th century quarter is a highly desirable area to live in, home for a mixture of the old Jordanese people as well as artists, students and yuppies.
